Franconia

History

Also called Blaufrankisch or Limberg , Franken seems to have the two countries of origin: Croatia, where he is in fact the city of Limberg, or the upper valley of the Main, called Franken, or Franconia. The first hypothesis, however, seems to be the most valid, because in that area growing and widespread. Strangely, the biggest ampelographers not make mention in their works. We find it mentioned only by Marzotto, in his wine grapes in 1925 by Poggi and his Atlante ampelographic. Currently, there are widespread in Austria, not in Italy and France. The areas most affected are the Italian Trentino, in the area of Levico, and Friuli, in the areas of the plain of the Tagliamento, and Cervignano Palmanova. Poorly in the hills.
