Brunello (Sangiovese Grosso)


Given its reputation, we decided to create a special form of this variant "noble" of Sangiovese, called, in Tuscany, Sangiovese Grosso or Brunello di Montalcino in the area (SI), Blackthorn Gentile in the area of Montepulciano (SI) and Sangiovese Lamole at Greve in Chianti (FI). Viticulture and winemaking

Environmental and cultural characteristics and needs : usually the variety "Sangiovese Grosso" has medium leaf, three-lobed or five-lobed, light green, bunch medium, compact, cylindrical-pyramidal, winged; berry medium to large, regularly shaped ovoid, with skin black-violet and rich in bloom, not particularly thick, simple flavor. It prefers hilly terrain of medium and low fertility, clay and limestone with abundant, dry at maturity.
